Hi, my name is Talib,

I am currently attending Riverside High School, and I am in the 9th grade. I enjoy drawing and other sports such as basketball and football, and I am also a Triangle Bikeworks (TBW) Youth Cyclist.

This year, I will travel one of the possible routes of The Great Migration, a period when African Americans fled the south. We will travel from Carrboro, North Carolina to Chicago, Illinois. The trip in total will cover over 700 miles. I have been a youth cyclist with TBW since 2020 and this will be my 2nd time biking over 750 miles. I’m looking forward to seeing the city of Chicago and the Chicago River and trying a famous Chicago hotdog.

The trip is free to go on; however, I have been tasked with raising funds to help out. As a nonprofit organization, Triangle Bikeworks needs our help to continue to provide these amazing opportunities to youth like me.

That’s why I am reaching out to all of you as my support system. All of you have played some role in shaping me into who I am, and with your continued support, I know I can achieve even greater heights. I am grateful for any and all donations. I am just trying to do my part for the organization I love. I would LOVE IT if you would follow along with me on our route on social media. Here are the links where you can see our progress: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support.

ABOUT 2022 SnR Summer Experience

23 youth were accepted to do the 2022 Spoke'n Revolutions (SnR) Summer Experience Program. Youth had to participate in the SnR Fall and/or Spring program. They put in at least 4 months of training and hard work and have shown that they have what it takes to complete a 2-week summer bike tour. This year they will travel one of the possible routes of The Great Migration. The Great Migration was one of the largest movements of people in United States history. More than six million African Americans fled from the rural South to the cities of the North, Midwest, and West from the 1910s until the 1970s. The youth will start their journey on July 2 by traveling to Kentucky where they will start their 700-mile trek to Chicago, Il.
